Disco No.1
Data East • 1982

Step onto the roller rink in Data East’s Disco No.1, released in 1982, a cooperative maze game for two players. Assuming the role of a young skater, your objective is to navigate a crowded rink environment and earn the attention of several girls by skillfully maneuvering around them. Points are awarded when you completely encircle one or more of these figures while also collecting bonus items that appear throughout the playing field. The gameplay emphasizes strategic skating, as players must avoid obstacles and competing skaters while attempting to create complete loops around their desired targets. Simple controls—a four-way joystick and a single button—allow for precise movements across the rink. The game features music and graphics representative of its era, adding to the nostalgic atmosphere of this unique arcade experience. Disco No.1 was initially released in March of 1982 and later became available on the DECO Cassette System as part of their series. A version of the game also appeared on the Intellivision console several years later under a different title, "Thin Ice."
