Gameplay

Take control of a Japanese train and navigate various routes in Densha de GO! 2 Kousoku-hen. This unique arcade game puts you in the engineer’s seat, tasking you with safely transporting passengers to their destinations within strict time limits. Players must manage speed, adhere to signals, and ensure precise stops at each station along the Akita Shinkansen, Hokuetsu Express Hokuhoku Line, and portions of the Keihin-Tohoku Line. The gameplay focuses on skillful train operation; accurate positioning earns bonus points, while using the horn strategically can also yield rewards. Densha de GO! 2 Kousoku-hen represents a fascinating glimpse into Japanese rail culture, built upon the foundation laid by its predecessor and featuring a blend of familiar routes and new challenges as lines reopened following World War II disruptions. This first-person driving experience arrived in Japan during March of 1998, shortly after being showcased at the 1998 AOU Amusement Expo.
