Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom (Europe 940412)
Capcom • 1993

Capcom’s Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom is a four-player fighting game released in Europe in 1993. Built on the CPS-II hardware platform, this 2.5D action title lets players select from a roster of characters inspired by the popular tabletop role-playing game. Combat takes place across varied stages as these heroes battle through a series of encounters. The gameplay involves moving between foreground and background planes to attack opponents and navigate hazards within each level. Players utilize character-specific movesets, including punches, kicks, and special abilities, to defeat enemies and progress toward the top of the titular tower. Several revisions were made to the game’s code during its development, with the final European version released in April 1994. This release shares a lineage with an earlier Japanese version of the game, though it was developed in Japan for distribution in both North America and Europe. The Blue Board hardware revision used supports these international releases.
