Gameplay

Dynax’s Don Den Lover Vol. 1 - Shiro Kuro Tsukeyo! is an arcade adaptation of the classic board game Othello, designed for two players. Players choose to play as either black or white pieces – with black moving first – and engage in a strategic battle to control the majority of the board. A timer adds pressure to each turn, forcing quick decisions while attempting to outmaneuver your opponent. The gameplay allows for requesting assistance; players can ask for advice on their best move or rewind a previous turn, though opponents have the same option as well. Matches conclude when no more valid moves exist for either player. The victor is determined by counting the number of pieces controlled – a simple win condition that belies the game’s depth. Defeat results in restarting the round, while victory triggers a unique sequence where the defeated opponent’s character undergoes a brief animation involving the removal of clothing. The game offers a single-player mode against five distinct opponents, each with their own strip sequence following defeat, adding an unexpected element to the classic Othello experience. The title translates from Japanese as “Let's Decide Black and white!”
