D-Day is a single-player shooter gallery game released in 1982 by Olympia. Players use a paddle controller to aim and fire at tanks and other enemy targets appearing on screen. The gameplay centers around precise aiming and timing as you maneuver the weapon to defend against incoming threats. It features sound produced by two General Instrument AY8910 chips, offering an auditory backdrop to the action. The game utilizes a Zilog Z80 processor running at 2 MHz, underpinning its straightforward but engaging mechanics. A single button allows for a jump function which may be used strategically during gameplay. D-Day was released in April of 1982 and represents a snapshot of early 1980s arcade design from Olympia, a company whose technical director, Livio Leante, operated a prominent Milanese arcade called Astragames.
