D-Con is a two-player cooperative shooter released in 1992 by Success. Players control insectoid characters tasked with eliminating hordes of robotic enemies. Using an eight-way joystick and two buttons for firing, each player navigates through scrolling environments, battling waves of mechanical adversaries that advance toward them. The game's sound is generated using a combination of chips producing both familiar synthesized sounds and more complex tones. Gameplay involves strategic coordination between the two players to overcome increasingly difficult challenges. Success utilized a Motorola 68000 processor for its main functions while a Zilog Z80 handled some aspects of processing; this pairing contributed to the game's visual presentation and audio capabilities. The overall objective is to survive each level by destroying all enemies encountered, progressing toward an unknown final goal.
