Gameplay

Dazzler is a two-player maze game released in 1982 by Century Electronics. Players control characters navigating interconnected pathways to collect items and return them to designated spots within the playfield. Gameplay shares characteristics with both Pac-Man and Donkey Kong Junior, blending maze navigation with an objective of collection and delivery. The game utilizes Century’s CVS hardware and features voice simulation as part of its presentation. Each player uses an eight-way joystick for movement and two buttons for action, maneuvering their character through the maze while avoiding obstacles. Successfully gathering and depositing items earns points, and competition between players is inherent in the shared play space. The official high score on Dazzler stands at 69,000 points, achieved by Richard Crawford in March of 1983.
