Danger Zone (rev 2)
Cinematronics • 1986

Take to the skies in Danger Zone (rev 2), a thrilling first-person shooter released by Cinematronics in 1986. As a lone pilot defending your base, you’ll navigate a desert landscape dotted with mountains while facing waves of enemy aircraft – helicopters, fighters, and bombers – descending from above. Keep a close watch on your radar screen as you attempt to intercept and destroy these threats before they reach their target. The game utilizes a trackball for precise control allowing players to maneuver through the airspace and engage approaching enemies. Two buttons provide firing capabilities and other actions as you pilot your aircraft in an effort to survive relentless attacks. Danger Zone’s cabinet design was recognized with an award, earning it “Video Game Cabinet Design of the Year” from Replay magazine. Notably, a high score of 4,525,800 points was achieved by Donn Nauert shortly after the game's release. The title is part of a series that includes Viper, and shares development staff with notable artists, programmers, and designers known for their contributions to the arcade scene.
