Cyber Sled (CY2, World)
Namco • 1993

Piloting futuristic tanks that slide across an arena surface, two players compete for glory in Cyber Sled, a 1993 shooter from Namco. As drivers of these colorful "sleds," players maneuver through the environment while engaging opponents with various weapons to achieve victory or avoid elimination. Success earns a rank and letter grade reflecting performance within the game. Cyber Sled is exclusively found as a dedicated sit-down arcade cabinet designed for two players, featuring distinctive blue and red color schemes marking each player’s station. The control setup includes twin joysticks and five buttons per player—two for firing standard weapons, two for launching rockets, and one to adjust the view while navigating. The game spawned a soundtrack release by Victor Entertainment in early 1994 and was followed by a sequel, Cyber Commando, released the following year. A port of Cyber Sled appeared on Sony PlayStation in 1995, though a Sega Saturn version remained an unreleased prototype.
