Cyber-Lip (NGM-010)
SNK • 1990

Cyber-Lip is a cooperative platform shooter for up to two players, released by SNK in 1990 as part of their Neo-Geo MVS line. Players navigate side-scrolling environments, battling waves of robotic enemies—cyborgs and androids—on a mission to restore order. The game shares gameplay similarities with the "Contra" series, demanding skillful jumps and precise shooting to survive increasingly challenging encounters. Players can toggle between two firing modes: one for standard weaponry and another that utilizes rocket launchers and grenades. While powerful, grenade and rocket ammunition is limited, encouraging strategic usage and collection of power-ups found throughout each level. Unique to Cyber-Lip are elevator sequences where players must choose a path—either ascending or descending—which alters the game's progression and leads to different challenges. Each stage culminates in a confrontation with a large boss enemy that must be defeated before advancing. The Neo-Geo MVS cabinet features a standard joystick for eight-way movement, along with three buttons for shooting, jumping, and weapon selection, offering players precise control over their characters’ actions within this action-packed experience.
