Crush Roller (set 1)
Alpha Denshi Co. / Kural Samno Electric, Ltd. • 1981
Also known as: Korosuke Roller, Make Trax

In Crush Roller, released in 1981 by Alpha Denshi Co. / Kural Samno Electric, Ltd., two players control paintbrushes navigating maze-like layouts to fill them entirely with color and advance. Pursuing the brushes are two fish – one yellow, one blue – that must be avoided to prevent losing lives. Players can temporarily repel these aquatic adversaries using strategically placed rollers; by positioning their paintbrush at the roller’s end and pushing forward, they launch a projectile that removes a fish from the board for a short time while earning bonus points. Adding complexity is a third character—an animal or human figure—that periodically appears and leaves tracks across the painted surface, requiring further coverage to complete each stage. Contacting this figure halts its track-laying and awards points, with higher scores given as players progress through levels. The game features a Zilog Z80 processor and Namco sound chips, offering a distinct audio experience alongside the visual challenge of covering every inch of the maze.
