Gameplay

Crackshot (version 2.0) challenges players in this 1985 first-person shooting game from Exidy. Using a lightgun to aim, you must quickly identify and target specific objects within each level before time expires. Success depends on discerning between “good” targets that earn points and "bad" ones which penalize your score; misfires have consequences! The game presents a variety of themed stages, including a bustling bar scene, a wild west alley filled with varmints, bank robbery scenarios, futuristic robot encounters, and even an outer space sequence. A bonus level features a slot machine for additional scoring opportunities. The city stage’s background music is notable for incorporating the opening guitar riff from "Secret Agent Man." Crackshot runs on Exidy 440 hardware, providing a resolution of 320x240 pixels and a palette of 256 colors. A hidden feature allows players to enter their name into the game’s configuration menu by holding down the start button at power-up, which will be displayed in the bar scene mirror.
