Country Club
SNK • 1988

SNK’s Country Club, released in 1988, offers a unique take on the golf genre for two players. Utilizing a trackball and simple button controls, players navigate their golfer across varied courses, aiming to sink putts and complete each hole with the fewest strokes possible. The game presents a straightforward golfing experience focused on precision and strategy as you compete against your opponent. The technical design of Country Club incorporates multiple circuit boards – one for sound, two for processing, and one for video - relying on Zilog Z80 processors and YM3526 sound chips to deliver the gameplay and audio. The game was also distributed internationally under the name "Lee Trevino's Fighting Golf." A Nintendo Famicom port of this title, known as Fighting Golf, arrived in 1988. While simple in design, Country Club provides a competitive and engaging golfing challenge for arcade enthusiasts.
