Cool Pool

Challenge a friend to a game of billiards in Cool Pool, a two-player sports arcade game released by Catalina in 1992. Players use a trackball and single button control scheme to aim and shoot pool balls across the table, competing against each other in one of four distinct game types: Straight Pool, Eight Ball, Nine Ball, or Strip Pool. The Strip Pool variation contains mature content and is intended for adult audiences only. Cool Pool offers some visual variety with three selectable female characters appearing during gameplay. The game’s graphics utilize a 320x240 resolution display capable of presenting 256 colors at a refresh rate of 60 Hz, powered by TMS34010 and TMS32026 processors alongside a DAC sound chip for audio feedback. Players will need to master aiming and strategy to succeed in any of the available pool game formats; each offering different rules and objectives.
