Gameplay

Pilots team up in Flash Boy, a two-player vertical scrolling shooter released by Data East Corporation in 1981. Players control spacecraft as they navigate through increasingly challenging levels, engaging enemy formations and dodging projectiles. This game was the twelfth title produced for the DECO Cassette System, a unique hardware platform developed to distribute games on cassette media. Flash Boy presents a straightforward but intense gameplay experience focused on coordinated aerial combat. As players ascend, they must work together to overcome obstacles and defeat waves of adversaries while striving to reach higher scores. An export version of this game, known as The Deco Kid, also exists. Running on the DECO Cassette System hardware (model DT-112), Flash Boy offers a glimpse into early Japanese arcade gaming technology.
