Gameplay

Crazy Climber 2 tasks players with scaling towering skyscrapers using dual joystick controls. As climbers ascend the building's facade, they must deftly dodge a barrage of obstacles including closing windows, falling debris, birds, laundry lines, and even gorillas. Successfully reaching the rooftop grants passage via helicopter to the next building, continuing the challenging climb upwards. Released in Japan in late 1988 by Nichibutsu, this sequel builds upon the frantic gameplay of its predecessor while introducing new hazards to overcome. The game’s vibrant visuals showcase a palette of over two thousand colors and utilizes a Motorola 68000 processor alongside dedicated sound chips for its distinctive soundtrack. While initially intended for wider distribution, Crazy Climber 2 remained primarily a Japanese arcade exclusive until its later inclusion in the Arcade Archives series on Sony PlayStation 4 consoles. A limited-edition soundtrack album accompanied the game’s release shortly after its debut.
