Carrier Air Wing (World 901012)
Capcom • 1990
Also known as: U.S. Navy

Take to the skies in Carrier Air Wing, a cooperative aerial shooter from Capcom released in 1990. Players control U.S. Navy aircraft as they navigate through horizontally scrolling levels filled with enemy planes and surface vessels. Working together is key, as you’ll need to coordinate attacks and defend against waves of opposition while striving to complete your missions. This title runs on Capcom's CP System hardware and represents an export version originally developed in Japan; a related Japanese release exists under the name U.S. Navy. The game builds upon the foundation laid by Capcom's earlier U.N. Squadron, continuing a series of aerial combat experiences. A visual quirk can be observed between versions: a character initially resembling Sean Connery appears with an even more pronounced likeness in the Japanese release, possibly due to changes made for licensing reasons within the U.S. version.
