Cannon Ball (Yun Sung, horizontal)
Yun Sung / Soft Vision • 1995

Cannon Ball is a cooperative puzzle game for two players that blends elements of break-out style action with color matching mechanics. Players control paddles at the bottom of the screen and must use them to launch balls upwards, aiming to connect three or more balls of the same color to clear them from the descending structure. Balls can be fired in one of three directions – 45 degrees left, 45 degrees right, or straight up – adding a layer of skill to each shot. As players progress through stages by eliminating enough colored groupings, they are rewarded with a digitized image. The game ends if any of the descending balls reach the paddles at the bottom of the screen. A curious quirk in Cannon Ball causes scores to reset to zero upon completing a stage, making achieving high scores challenging. Developed by Yun Sung and published under the Soft Vision label in 1995, this horizontally-oriented game features simple controls: an eight-way joystick and three buttons for ball launching and special actions like deploying bombs when players find themselves in difficult situations.
