Step up to the plate with Baseball Stars Professional, a comical baseball game released by SNK in 1990 as the debut title for their Neo-Geo MVS arcade system. Two players can face off against each other or teams controlled by the game’s AI in this straightforward simulation of America's pastime. Players use an eight-way joystick and four buttons to control batting, fielding, pitching, and base running actions—strategically advancing runners with button presses to score runs. The game offers a series of teams to challenge, and mastering their play unlocks additional players and teams as rewards. Baseball Stars Professional represents the first installment in a sequence that would later include Baseball Stars 2 and a Neo Geo Pocket Color title. It originally debuted in arcades during April of 1990 and has since seen ports to various home systems including the Neo-Geo AES, Neo-Geo CD, and PlayStation Store. This accessible baseball game provides simple controls and engaging gameplay that made it a popular choice when first released.
