Brave Blade (World)
Eighting / Raizing • 2000

Brave Blade is a cooperative flying shooter released in 2000 from Eighting and Raizing. Players control one of two aircraft as they navigate vertically scrolling environments filled with enemy formations and challenging bosses. The game presents itself in three dimensions, adding depth to the traditional shoot 'em up formula. Utilizing an 8-way joystick and three buttons, players attack waves of adversaries while dodging projectiles and collecting power-ups to improve their firepower. This title represents the final arcade release from the collaborative efforts of Eighting and Raizing. As players advance through the game, they will encounter increasingly complex patterns and formidable opponents requiring precise timing and coordination between both players. A unique quirk prevents players from entering "SEX" on the high score table; any attempts to do so are automatically censored. The development team included key figures such as Mitsuakira Tatsuta for planning and design, alongside Kenji Shibayama in programming. Brave Blade’s technical specifications include a SPU and Motorola 68000 sound CPU, contributing to the game's audio experience.
