Venture into prehistoric lands as Whirley, a caveman on a quest for lost treasure in Boomer Rang'r / Genesis. This two-player shooter from Data East Corporation challenges players to navigate dangerous environments and battle an array of enemies using a trusty boomerang. The game combines walking sequences with shooting action as you confront hostile cavemen armed with clubs, ferocious dinosaurs, and other prehistoric creatures – all while avoiding rocks dropped by circling vultures. A unique gameplay feature allows Whirley to commandeer the dinosaurs he defeats, riding them across the landscape and utilizing their fiery breath as a powerful attack. Boomer Rang'r utilizes Data East’s DECO Cassette System hardware and represents cassette number 36 in that system's library. Originally released in Japan in April of 1984, this title was developed by a team including Yu Suzuki and features planning from R&D Section 1, with software development handled by R&D Section 2.
