Bogey Manor
Technos Japan • 1985

Venture into a spooky mansion as a young ghost hunter in Technos Japan’s Bogey Manor, released in 1985. This platform and fighting game challenges players to traverse multiple floors of a haunted house, using a sword to destroy all the crystal balls within a set time limit. A map displayed on screen guides you through the labyrinthine halls while avoiding ghosts, Frankenstein's monster, witches, and other unsettling inhabitants. A magical glove provides a temporary advantage, allowing you to freeze spectral enemies before striking them down with your blade. Completing each stage involves more than just destroying the crystal balls; once they are eliminated, the mansion begins to collapse, requiring players to race toward the exit for victory. Special doors offer opportunities to transform into a superhero and collect power-ups. Bogey Manor is designed for two players, offering cooperative gameplay as you face the dangers within the crumbling estate. Utilizing an 8-way joystick and two buttons, players navigate the perilous environment with the goal of escaping the haunted house alive.
