This unique arcade pairing combines Konami's popular Dance Dance Revolution 2ndMix and beatmania IIDX into a single cabinet designed for two players. One player steps onto the dance pad to follow on-screen arrow sequences, while their partner utilizes six buttons to trigger notes in time with the music. A shared song list of forty-two tracks provides collaborative gameplay options; selections can be made from either machine. A significant feature of this version is the ability for DDR players to adjust difficulty levels – Basic, Another, and Maniac – before each song begins, adding a layer of customization to their experience. The "substream club version 2" build introduces a new challenge with the Catastrophic difficulty setting reserved for longer tracks. Failure by either player ends the game, creating a shared sense of responsibility as you navigate the rhythm together. Released in 1999, this cabinet represents an evolution within both the Dance Dance Revolution and beatmania IIDX series, building upon previous iterations to offer a more dynamic and connected music gaming experience for two simultaneous players.
