Gameplay

Block Carnival, also known as Thunder & Lightning 2, is a two-player ball and paddle game released by Visco in 1992. Players control paddles to deflect a bouncing ball, aiming to break through formations of blocks arranged on the screen. The gameplay relies on precise timing and coordination between players as they work together to clear each stage. The game utilizes an 8-way joystick for control and features two buttons per player. As the ball ricochets around the playfield, players must strategically position their paddles to keep it in play and destroy the block structures. The challenge increases with increasingly complex block patterns and faster ball speeds. Block Carnival builds upon the foundation of Visco’s earlier title, Thunder & Lightning, offering a fresh take on the classic breakout formula with its distinctive visual style and cooperative gameplay for two players.
