Blomby Car (Version 1P0)
ABM & Gecas • 1994

Blomby Car is a two-player racing game released in 1994 by ABM & Gecas. Players take on the role of rally drivers navigating courses from behind the wheel of vehicles like the Peugeot 406, attempting to outpace their opponent through challenging terrain. The gameplay unfolds across a 2D perspective, requiring players to skillfully maneuver using a joystick and buttons to control speed and direction while striving for the fastest times. The game’s development involved contributions from multiple Italian sources; one notable detail is that the Peugeot 406 car model was supplied by Francesco Zaia, son of a member of the development team. Although rumored to be inspired by "World Rally", developers assert that Blomby Car's code originated independently, drawing inspiration rather than being a direct copy. Released as a conversion kit, Blomby Car appears to have had limited distribution and represents ABM & Gecas’ sole arcade title. A unique touch is found in the high score table, which displays an image from an Italian newspaper reporting on a cycling race featuring rider Chiappucci.
