Gameplay

Take to the skies in BlaZeon, a fast-paced, cooperative shooter released by Atlus in 1992. Players pilot the Garland TFF-01 spacecraft, equipped with a rapid-fire laser and a unique ability called the Tranquilander. By using the Tranquilander on certain enemy robots, players can capture them, assuming their form and gaining access to new weapons and special attacks – adding tactical depth to the intense action. The game features challenging boss battles where skillful play is rewarded. Defeating bosses quickly adds bonus time to your score at the end of the level, incentivizing quick reflexes and strategic use of captured enemy abilities. Two players can team up for a shared experience, coordinating their efforts to overcome increasingly difficult waves of enemies and formidable opponents. BlaZeon's gameplay blends familiar horizontal scrolling shooter mechanics with an innovative capture system, offering a dynamic and engaging arcade challenge. The game’s visuals are powered by a Motorola 68000 processor combined with a Zilog Z80 for sound effects through the Yamaha YM2151 chip, creating a vibrant and immersive experience.
