Gameplay

Step into a whimsical yet perilous world in Biomechanical Toy, a vibrant cooperative platform shooter for two players. As Inguz, you’re tasked with rescuing imprisoned toys and battling against an army of corrupted playthings after the magical pendulum that animates them is stolen by the vengeful Scrubby. Navigate scrolling stages filled with animated obstacles and enemy toys using an eight-way joystick, utilizing a starting pistol to clear your path. Throughout each level, you can find power-ups to enhance Inguz’s weapon—increasing shot strength, enabling automatic fire, or unleashing explosive rounds—though reloading leaves him briefly vulnerable. Freed toys will temporarily assist in combat, bolstering your firepower. Keep an eye out for food items to restore health and checkpoints marked by red flags that serve as respawn points should you lose a life. The game’s unusual aesthetic incorporates abstract imagery and features occasional bonus opportunities like shooting oriental-style faces or giant flying hats for extra points. Smart Bombs can also be discovered, offering a temporary reprieve from the on-screen chaos. Biomechanical Toy represents Zeus's sole venture into arcade game production, boasting music inspired by film soundtracks from the 1980s and early 1990s.
