Gameplay

Big Striker is a two-player soccer game released in Japan by Jaleco in 1992. Players control their teams using an eight-way joystick and three buttons to execute short passes, long passes/shots, and fake plays on offense; defensively, players can attempt sliding tackles. The game utilizes Jaleco’s Mega System 1-C hardware and features a sound system incorporating Yamaha and OKI chips for its audio. The gameplay focuses on strategic passing and skillful shooting to score goals against the opposing team. Players must manage their positioning and timing to successfully navigate the field and overcome defensive challenges. A modified version, known as "Best League," appeared later and featured teams from Serie A instead of generic national squads. Developed by a team including designer H. Iiduka and programmer H. Akashi, Big Striker’s visuals were created by artists M. Horikoshi, Sanbo, T. Fukada, and N. Tanabe, while music was composed by Kiyoshi Yokoyama.
