Beezer (version 9.0)
Pacific Polytechnical Corp. / Tong Electronic • 1982

Navigate twisting honeycomb pathways in Beezer, a single-player puzzle game released in 1982 by Pacific Polytechnical Corp./Tong Electronic. As the player, your task is to strategically guide dangerous bees into enclosed six-sided traps using precise trackball control. By manipulating gates within the maze, you lure the bees and seal them off for points; consuming bee eggs before they hatch grants temporary special abilities to assist in this process. However, caution is necessary as being stung or becoming trapped yourself presents a significant challenge. Successfully trapping the bees requires careful planning and timing, encouraging repeat play as players refine their strategies. Designed by Todd A. Blume, Beezer features a resolution of 256x288 pixels with a palette of sixteen colors. The game’s unusual gameplay combined with its responsive trackball controls offer a unique arcade experience that rewards skillful maneuvering and strategic thinking.
