Gameplay

Armed Police Batrider is a fast-paced, vertically scrolling shooter for two players, released in Europe in 1998 from Raizing and Eighting. Players pilot customizable attack helicopters through increasingly challenging levels filled with enemy formations and towering bosses. Before each mission, you can select different ship types, each prioritizing either powerful shots, devastating bombs, abundant options, or increased speed – impacting your gameplay style. The game’s scoring system rewards skilled play; catching all medals within a wave grants escalating bonus points, while missed medals reset the counter. Hidden features and secrets abound for those willing to experiment, including unlockable ships from other Raizing titles, altered bullet patterns through in-game commands, and special option formations achieved by collecting items in specific sequences. Beyond its intense action, Armed Police Batrider includes playful nods to gaming history, such as a cameo appearance of Dragon Quest artwork after completing the game on certain difficulty settings. A unique quirk prevents players from entering “SEX” on the high score table, replacing it with "H!?".
