Bad Dudes vs. Dragonninja (US, revision 1)
Data East USA • 1988
Also known as: Dragonninja

Team up with a friend to rescue captured ninjas in Bad Dudes vs. Dragonninja, an action platformer released by Data East USA in 1988. As one of two tough-guy protagonists—simply known as "Bad Dude"—players must battle through hordes of enemies and treacherous environments, utilizing jumps and punches to overcome obstacles and defeat foes. The game features scrolling stages filled with traps and unique adversaries, requiring coordination and quick reflexes to progress. This North American version is based on the earlier Japanese title Dragonninja, but includes a distinct ending sequence not found in that original release. Players will encounter a variety of challenges as they work their way through the levels, fighting to free the captured ninjas from the clutches of an evil dragon ninja master. The game's visuals and gameplay have appeared in popular culture, notably featured in films such as Robocop 2 and Parenthood. Several ports of Bad Dudes vs. Dragonninja, or its Japanese counterpart, were released for various home computers and consoles throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, bringing the arcade experience to a wider audience.
