Also known as: Powered Gear: Strategic Variant Armor Equipment

Armored Warriors is a three-player fighting game released by Capcom in 1994. Running on the CPS-II hardware platform, this title blends traditional fighting game mechanics with a unique perspective as players control giant, customizable mechs known as "Powered Gears." The gameplay unfolds across detailed environments, offering a sense of depth not typically found in side-scrolling fighters; it’s considered a 2.5D experience. Players select from a roster of distinct Powered Gear units, each possessing different strengths and abilities. Combat involves utilizing a variety of weapons and special attacks to defeat opponents, maneuvering within the arena to gain strategic advantage. The game's development originated in Japan but was released in both North America and Europe. Three revisions of the game were distributed across North American and European markets; the final revision, dated October 24, 1994, combined releases for both regions.
