Xenon is a two-player vertical scrolling shooter released in 1988 by Arcadia Systems and developed by the Bitmap Brothers, a team known for their work on Commodore Amiga computers. Players control a craft with a unique dual nature; at any time, they can switch between piloting an airborne spaceship or maneuvering a ground-based tank to navigate through challenging levels filled with enemies. The game utilizes a Motorola 68000 processor and custom sound chips to deliver its gameplay experience on Arcadia Systems hardware. The screen displays graphics in a horizontal resolution of 671 x 216 pixels, utilizing a palette of 4096 colors at a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Players use an eight-way joystick for movement and two buttons for actions within the game. Originally known as "KellyX" during development, Xenon marked the debut title from the Bitmap Brothers and would later be followed by Xenon II and Xenon 2000 - Project PCF. Multiple ports of the game were released for home computers shortly after its arcade release, including versions for Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, Commodore Amiga, PC, Sinclair ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, and MSX.
