Ninja Mission (Arcadia, set 1, V 2.5)
Arcadia Systems • 1987

Ninja Mission is a two-player fighting game released in 1987 by Arcadia Systems on their Super Select board hardware. Developed by Sculptured Software, players assume the roles of ninjas engaged in close-quarters combat against an opponent. Using an eight-way joystick and two buttons, each player maneuvers their ninja across the screen to attack and evade. The game’s visuals present a horizontal display with a resolution of 671 x 216 pixels, utilizing a palette of over four thousand colors. The action unfolds on a static background as players execute punches, kicks, and other martial arts moves in an attempt to deplete their opponent's health bar. While originally released as an arcade title running on Arcadia System hardware with a Motorola 68000 processor and custom sound chip, Ninja Mission later appeared on the Amstrad CPC computer under a slightly different name.
