Control an anteater in this unusual maze game from Tago Electronics, published in 1982. The objective is to consume all the ant larvae scattered within anthill-like environments before time runs out. You navigate the anteater through these tunnels, extending its tongue to eat the larvae; however, only the very tip of the tongue can safely ingest insects – contact with any other part results in a loss of life. The gameplay introduces additional challenges such as worms that must be eaten from behind and aggressive ants. A day-night cycle influences the action, introducing spiders that descend your tongue and require eliminating by consuming queen ants to survive. Strategic use of these powerful queens is key to clearing the screen of insects and progressing through increasingly difficult stages. Anteater offers a unique blend of collecting and maze navigation with its unusual premise and challenging mechanics, providing a distinct arcade experience.
