Altered Beast (set 8) (8751 317-0078)

Players take on the role of a resurrected Viking warrior in Sega’s 1988 arcade game, Altered Beast. This two-player cooperative action title blends platforming challenges with fighting elements as you battle through various levels to rescue a captured princess. As a beast, players must defeat hordes of enemies and monstrous guardians using claw attacks, tail swipes, and other powerful moves specific to the animal form. The gameplay involves recovering magical runes that transform the Viking into different beasts, each possessing unique abilities and strengths. These transformations allow for varied approaches to combat and navigation through the increasingly difficult stages. Players must strategically choose which beast is best suited for overcoming obstacles and defeating enemies encountered along their path. Altered Beast represents a re-edition of an earlier version of the game, indicating that this release builds upon a previously established foundation. The scrolling platform fighter offers a challenging experience for two players seeking coordinated action in a fantasy setting.
