Mahjong Angel Kiss (ver 1.0)
Jaleco • 1995

Mahjong Angel Kiss is a single-player tabletop game released by Jaleco in 1995. Players engage in traditional mahjong gameplay against a series of female characters, each featuring unique artwork and animated sequences. Unlike some similar games, progression isn't simply achieved through depleting an opponent’s funds; players must win each match to advance and view the full set of animations for each character. The game utilizes Jaleco’s Mega System 32 hardware and boasts a distinctive visual style overseen by character design producer Satoshi Urushihara, known for his work on anime series like Plastic Little and the Growlanser game franchise. Each girl is voiced by a different actress, contributing to the game's unique presentation. Mahjong Angel Kiss presents a more deliberate gameplay experience than many arcade titles of its era, requiring players to focus on strategic mahjong play rather than simply exploiting a progression mechanic. A Sega Saturn port titled Mahjong Tenshi Angel Lips was later released in 1996.
