Gameplay

Based on the popular television series, Airwolf is a two-player horizontal scrolling shooter released in 1987 by Kyugo. Players pilot the advanced helicopter known as Airwolf through varied environments, battling enemy aircraft and ground installations. Utilizing an eight-way joystick and two buttons for controls, cooperative gameplay allows two players to simultaneously navigate the dangers of each mission. The game’s technical specifications include dual Zilog Z80 processors and General Instrument AY8910 sound chips which contribute to its audio experience. As a horizontally scrolling shooter, the action constantly progresses forward, demanding precision and teamwork from both pilots as they encounter increasingly challenging foes. Airwolf initially appeared in arcades before being ported to other platforms including the Nintendo Famicom in Japan and later an LCD handheld game.
