Air Buster: Trouble Specialty Raid Unit is a cooperative horizontal scrolling shooter released in 1990 by Kaneko under license from Namco. Two players pilot aircraft through challenging levels, battling waves of enemies and navigating intricate environments with an eight-way joystick and two buttons to fire. The game's action centers around precise control and teamwork as you work together to overcome increasingly difficult obstacles and enemy formations. Developed in Japan and released in January 1990, Air Buster features a vibrant visual style accompanied by music composed by Tatsuya Watanabe and sound operation from S. Aizu. Distinctive level design within the game has been noted as an influence on later titles. The soundtrack was even released as a limited-edition album shortly after the game’s debut. This arcade experience provides a fast-paced, collaborative challenge for two players seeking classic shooter action. Ports of the game were later made available on Japanese PC Engine and Sega Mega Drive consoles under the title Aero Blasters.
