Gameplay

Take to the skies in Aero Fighters, a fast-paced vertical scrolling shooter released by Video System Co. in 1992. Players control one of several aircraft, cooperating with a second player to battle through waves of enemy planes and fortifications across various environments. The game is part of a series that would later include Aero Fighters 2, Aero Fighters 3, Sonic Wings Limited, and Aero Fighters Assault. As players progress, they face increasingly difficult challenges requiring precise maneuvering and coordinated attacks. Originally developed in Japan and released as an export title, this version was distributed across several territories including North America, Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The game's development builds upon the foundation of Video System’s earlier title, Sonic Wings. Aero Fighters provides a challenging cooperative experience for two players, with one player holding the record of 224,500 points as of 2006. A Super Nintendo port was later released in the United States under the title Aero Fighters.
