Puzzle King is a multi-game compilation released in 2002 by K1 Soft, featuring four distinct puzzle experiences for two players. The package includes PacMan 2, Tetris, HyperMan 2, and Snow Bros., offering varied gameplay styles within a single arcade cabinet. Players utilize an eight-way joystick and three buttons to navigate each game’s challenges – guiding characters through mazes, arranging falling blocks, controlling speedy heroes, and battling enemies alongside a partner in the cooperative Snow Bros. mode. Running on hardware similar to that found in Toaplan's Snow Bros. arcade games, Puzzle King presents its titles with a horizontal screen resolution of 256x224 pixels and a palette of 256 colors. The game’s sound is generated through a combination of Yamaha YM2151 and OKI6295 chips alongside a Zilog Z80 processor, providing a range of audio experiences to match the diverse games on offer. Developed in collaboration with HANsystem, Puzzle King provides a collection of familiar puzzle action for simultaneous two-player enjoyment.
